Gulf Coast Women's Center for Non-Violence

  • The Gulf Coast Women's Center for Nonviolence was founded in 1977, first as a crisis line and later as a safe house, by a group of women concerned about the safety of the victims of domestic violence.  In 1978, the Center was incorporated and began it's long history of providing shelter to victims of domestic violence.  During the past 30 years, the Center has developed into a comprehensive array of services for adult and child victims of violence:  domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and family members of homicide victims.

The Shae Kiernan Foundation

  • It is the vision and purpose of the Shae Foundation to provide opportunities for kids of all ages to reach their God-given potential through age appropriate mentoring, biblical counseling and post-secondary scholarships.

  • The Mentoring Program will be conducted on campus at the Middle Schools during the school day and coordinated through the Offices of the Middle School Counselors.  Mentors will be recommended through the Office of The Dean of Students at the Junior College.

  • Biblical Counseling will be made available for those seeking assistance, after the school and work day, by the Lay Counseling Staff.

  • Scholarship recipients will receive applications through the Offices of the Vo-Tech and High School Counselors.

Compassion International

  •  Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults.  Founded by the Rev. Everett Swanson in 1952, Compassion International began providing Korean War orphans with food, shelter, education and health care, as well as Christian training.  Today, Compassion helps more than 1 million children in 25 countries.

  • Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe. People of all ages can be involved in this simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ.

Pregnancy Resources of Mississippi (PROMISS)

  • Founded in 2002, PROMISS is a locally organized and funded outreach. They provide a variety of services and programs to meet client needs.  All services are free and confidential.  They include:  Pregnancy screening with immediate results, accurate information on pregnancy options, maternity and baby clothes and supplies, prenatal and infant care education, referrals to community resources and agencies, post-abortion counseling and support groups, pregnancy loss counseling, abstinence education for schools and churches.
